Terms and Conditions

General terms and conditions of Layback (Private) Limited valid for all contracts closed after 26 September 2022. These following booking terms & conditions become part of the travel package contract between you and Layback (Private) Limited, "we" or "us".
Booking + Payment
You’re making a reservation by submitting the booking form on the website www.layback.lk. After sending us the booking form:
1. We will send you a booking confirmation email within 1-12hrs, including a payment link to pay by credit/debit card. You also have the option to pay by Wise or bank transfer. All prices are in Euro (EUR, €).
2. To secure the booking, the payment of a deposit of 25% is required within 48hrs (unless otherwise agreed) after you receive the booking confirmation email. We will hold the room and/or bed for you in the meantime. We will send you a separate invoice for the remaining amount four (4) weeks prior to your arrival or try to charge your payment method (4) weeks prior to your arrival. Payment for the final balance is due within 7 days after receipt of the invoice.
3. Full payment is required for last minute bookings, that means if you book within 21 days of the arrival date (unless otherwise agreed).
Full payment is required within 48hrs if you book within 21 days of the arrival date.
Full payment is required within 24hrs if you book within 7 days of the arrival date.
Full payment is required within 6hrs if you book within 24hrs of the arrival date.
4. Your booking is automatically confirmed after payment. If full payment has not been received by the set/ or agreed time frames we reserve the right to cancel and/or take another booking by releasing your spot for others to book (unless otherwise agreed).
5. If you have only paid a deposit of 25% and haven't paid the remaining balance, we will send you a reminder or try to charge your payment method (4) weeks prior to your arrival. Payment for the final balance is due within 7 days after receipt of the invoice. If you fail to pay the final balance within 7 days after receipt of the invoice, we will send you a final reminder where the payment is required in 48hrs. If you ignore the final payment reminder and fail to complete the payment in due time, your reservation will be canceled, your room and/or bed will be offered to another guest. You won't be able to rebook or modify. Your original payment of 25% deposit can’t be used as credit for a future reservation as it will be forfeited and non-refundable.
6. If you book at a certain rate and during the time span between your reservation date and your arrival date the price changes, both parties will respect the rate of the original reservation.
7. Credit/debit card charges will be made in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR), which will be calculated in accordance to the exchange rate of the day.
8. Wise account payments should be transferred in EURO (€)
9. Local bank account transfers can be made to our international bank accounts in UK, EU, US, Australia, New Zealand & Canada in local currency, which will be calculated in accordance to the exchange rate of the day.
Payment: double-check wiring details
Should you decide to pay by bank transfer and/or Wise, please double check the bank details provided by us. We can’t be held accountable, should you by accident wire the required amount to a wrong account number. If there are any questions and/or concerns regarding payment, please contact us immediately.
Booking modifications
Pending availability, we offer a one (1) free date change 28 days prior to your arrival date without any reasons. Should you change your dates more than once or within the 28 days of your arrival date, following charges apply.
Dorms
EUR 50 for person, for every date change made 28 days prior to your arrival date.
EUR 100 for person, for every date change made within the 27 - 21 days of your arrival date.
EUR 150 for person, for every date changes made within 20 - 15 days of your arrival date.
EUR 200 for person, for every date changes made within 14 - 8 days of your arrival date.
Date change is not possible in the 7 days of your arrival or for no shows.
Private rooms
EUR 100 for the room, for every date change made 28 days prior to your arrival date.
EUR 200 for the room, for every date change made within the 27 -21 days of your arrival date.
EUR 400 for the room, for every date changes made within 20 - 15 days of your arrival date.
Date change is not possible in the 14 days of your arrival or for no shows.
Missed activities
no discount and/or refund. Our surfcamp runs from Sunday to Sunday. We are unable to give you any discount or refunds if you miss any activities during your stay and/or when you decide to check in late or check out early.
Cancellations & refunds Policy
Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, except for bookings made within 21 days of your arrival date. If you paid by bank or Wise transfer, you will receive a refund with no fees deducted. For card payments, a 4% fee will be deducted. After these 48 hours, the deposit is non-refundable.
We offer a refund of 75% of the amount you paid (if you paid in full for your package) if you cancel before 21 days of your arrival date. If you paid by bank or Wise transfer, you will receive a refund with no fees deducted. For card payments, a 4% fee will be deducted. After these 48 hours, the deposit is non-refundable.
No refunds for cancellations made within the 21 days of your arrival date or for no shows.
Airport transfer(s) and any add-ons you paid will be fully refunded if you cancel.
Cancellation times is based on the local time of Layback.
Penalties
Smoking in any of the rooms is an immediate fine of EUR 1,000
In case of no show, the total amount of stay will be charged & no refunds.
Travel and cancellation insurance
Traveler should have full travel insurance & cancellation insurance. We accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to persons or property during traveler’s stay. We will not issue any refunds that are caused due to delay, visa refusal, entry refusal, flight cancellations, war, acts of God, injuries, covid-19 or death of 2nd or 3rd degree family, relatives, friends, any other reason that Layback has no part in. In most cases we could offer a reschedule under certain conditions. We expect however that our guest have the proper cancellation insurances in place to protect them from events Layback has no cause and part in.
Photos and videos
Your photos may be used on our website and social media channels.
Hiring our photographer: The photographer’s availability is subject to discretion and circumstance and the photographer does not join every surf session. Pre-booking is strongly advised. We aim to always have a photographer in residence but there may be intervals without. Coverage includes Weligama Bay, any outside village/spot will incur a travel fee (tuk tuk/boat).
