The online eVisa application system at eta.gov.lk is now back online! Tourists can once again apply for their visa before traveling, or if preferred, obtain a visa on arrival at the airport.

Visa-free entry for select countries Starting October 2024

The visa-free entry for citizens of 35 countries, initially set to begin on October 1, 2024, has been delayed by the government, with no clear timeline for its implementation. We want to ensure accurate information, so for now, please continue to apply for your visa through the online system or upon arrival at the airport.

Sri Lanka is going to offer a visa-free facility for citizens of following 35 countries. This visa-free entry is initially valid for 30 days but can be extended if you decide to stay longer. This policy will be in effect for a period of six months, providing a convenient way to explore Sri Lanka without the hassle of obtaining a visa in advance.
